More
than 150 years after its opening, the "Anhalter Bahn" presents itself as a
modern means of transport, with speeds of up to 200 km/h. Despite all its
modernity, there are many traces of the past to the left and right of the
tracks, signal boxes, station buildings, old depots. We have tried to capture
this flair in the Berlin-Wittenberg add-on.
Experience 118 km of electrified main line, the route to the new Berlin Airport
BBI, 12 km of Berlin S-Bahn. Travel through the Berlin City Tunnel, the southern
suburbs of Berlin, past the Südgelände, the Lichterfelde Ost station, from which
the world's first electric tram once ran, through the Nuthe Urstromtal, over the
Fläming to the Elbe, where Luther once nailed his 95 theses to the Wittenberg
church door..
With the add-on, discover cities and landscapes, enchanting nights and a big sky
over Berlin, Brandenburg and Saxony/Anhalt on one of the most important railway
routes in Germany.
