Zurich-Olten for Microsoft Train Simulator
The construction status of the systems was
2011. All track systems and buildings date from this year. That's why,
for example, the Zurich train station (Löwenstrasse) and the access
bridges to it are not available. The timetable data for the tasks comes
from 2015. The entire route has a simplified SBB catenary system and
various catenary-free sidings. The signaling system is a mixture of the
N (numbers) and L (lamps) system which is used by the SBB. It is
possible that a section with the old system is followed by a switch to
the new system without mentioning it. Great importance was also placed
on prototypical station buildings and speed limits. In large systems
(Zurich and Olten, as well as the RB Limmattal) dwarf signals had to be
dispensed with. The entire terrain has been terraformed and includes
special textures on the distant mountains created using satellite
imagery. Most stations have several stopping points on the platform,
divided into sectors. If you are taking a short train, you may not have
to go all the way to the end of the platform. The following route
sections were integrated into the simulation:
• Zurich HB – Baden – Brugg AG – Aarau – Olten (original route)
• Zurich HB – Heitersberg – Lenzburg – Aarau
• Wettingen – Baden Oberstadt – Magenwil (only freight trains)
• Brugg AG – Lupfig – Othmarsingen
