The SBB
double-decker commuter train, known as DPZ for short, has been in service with
the SBB since 1989.
The trains are used almost exclusively in the Zurich S-Bahn area. From time to
time the vehicles are also used as regional express trains and can reach Aarau,
for example. As the Zurich S-Bahn area has been continually expanded, trains now
also reach Weinfelden, Schaffhausen, Zug or Unterterzen on Lake Walen.
115
units were produced for the SBB until 1997. The units consist of the Re 450
locomotive, a 2nd class carriage, a 1st/2nd class carriage and a 2nd class
control car. During peak times, up to three units can be coupled together, which
corresponds to a train length of almost 300 meters. The vehicles are in the
colors blue and cream, the doors were originally yellow. Between 2011 and 2018,
the vehicles were completely renovated and the doors have been painted red since
then. In addition, the second-class carriage was replaced by a low-floor
carriage, which allows passengers with walking difficulties to board.
The
AddOn has all vehicles of a unit. The locomotive as well as the control car can
be controlled by the player and have a variety of details in operation. The
locomotives and wagons have automatic numbering, and the coat of arms of the
locomotives will also be changed. In the quick drive, all six possible
compositions are available.
