Eagerly awaited by many, it initially seemed a little shy and shied away
from the limelight. But after some positive feedback, our ICE 1 now confidently
takes center stage and conquers the tracks and hearts in no time.
With a proud length of over 400 meters and an impressive capacity
of up to 800 passengers, this marvel of engineering is among the
longest ICE trains ever built. These trains travel at speeds of up
to 280 km/h on the tracks throughout Germany.
Despite nearly 30 years of tireless service, the ICE 1 is
certainly not ready for the scrap heap. As part of its redesign, the
trains have undergone a comprehensive modernization. The driver's cab now
features digital multifunction displays, and the passenger interior
has been given a modern makeover.
Thus, Germany's first high-speed train remains an indispensable part of the rail
network.
In collaboration with Trainworks (sound) and Railworks Austria (technology),
3DZUG (models) has meticulously recreated the ICE 1 using the latest PBR
technology. This involved considerable time, energy, and an extra dose of
attention to detail – from the train's lettering to improved
manufacturing techniques. Thanks to these advancements, we can now build
with even greater precision and incorporate weathering effects that were
not yet possible with the ICE 4.
The train is delivered in the current Deutsche Bahn redesign. As always,
all carriages are fully accessible and meticulously detailed.
Relax in first class, visit the open-plan carriage, or grab a refreshment in the
restaurant, which offers unparalleled views through its skylights.
For those who prefer a greener approach, we also include the "Climate
Protector" livery in addition to the standard DB version.
Six exciting challenges accompany this classic high-speed train and
complete the package.

3DZUG ICE 1 GTO Upgrade
This upgrade changes the ICE train sounds from IGBT (current) to GTO (scale).
The GTO sound was used previously. Additionally, two extra scenarios (Frankfurt-Koblenz) can be installed. These scenarios require
Traffic Pack 1 and the BR 442 from DTG.
