The
add-on “Im Köblitzer Bergland” emerged from the freeware add-on Altenburg-Wildau
eight years ago. The current version 3 reloaded 2019 of this add-on has taken
into account the wishes of customers that have arisen from longer user
experience.
The aim
of the work was to create additional possibilities for scenarios. The latest
versions of the signaling systems H/V and Ks from the signal team in version 8
as well as semaphore signals from the RLB team were integrated. The system from
virtual Railroads, Schienenbus and TrainTeamBerlin ensure a reliable PZB and
speed test sections. 500, 1000 and 2000 Hz magnets have been installed wherever
necessary.
This
version “Im Köblitzer Bergland 3 reloaded” contains some new features and
extensions. For example, an ICE high-speed line has been added, on which
journeys at speeds of up to 200 km/h are possible in LZB operation. The new
Altenburg-Nord marshalling yard offers additional options for designing
scenarios.
Geographically located somewhere in western Germany in the greater Trier area,
the developer has achieved one thing above all in two years of work: to build a
fantasy track that seems to be in the middle of reality - somewhere here in
Germany.
The new
version has its own track folder in Train Simulator, so users of the previous
version can continue to use it.
The
add-on dates back to the period after 2000, and the railway has since abandoned
many of its facilities. At former stops, you can still see overgrown remains of
tracks. Old tracks that are now rusting away, modern standard waiting shelters
next to old reception buildings with bricked-up windows. Closed stops that have
fallen victim to car traffic, signal boxes with broken window panes that no one
needs anymore because technology bundles everything in a central signal box.
Overgrown freight sheds are a reminder that the railway once had extensive
freight traffic. This add-on shows everything that reminds us railway
enthusiasts of the past glory days of the railway. Life goes on, nature reclaims
lost ground.
Let
yourself be impressed by the magic of the branch line as you travel along the 22
km long route from Köblitz to Wildau. Discover the beautiful landscape of the
Köblitzer Bergland. Experience high-speed journeys on the revised ICE route from
Bad Rinckenburg to Altenburg, 20 km long. Discover two heritage railways, where
a lively club operation takes place on rusty rails, keeping the railway past
alive.
Experience many challenges on the electrified main line: unguarded crossings as
well as gradient and speed changes will demand your full attention. On a modern
regional express train journey, you are required to stay within the timetable
and still pay attention to all signals. In this add-on, you will get to know
rail operations in all their facets.
The
developer Roman Glos has moved the signals to the right places and Mathias
Gundlach and his team have provided modified and corrected H/V, KS and form
signals. The EL signals were kindly provided by virtualRailroads. RailTraction
contributed the LZB triggers, which means that LZB journeys are now also
possible on the high-speed line.
Winter
textures have also been added and the soundscape of the included vehicles has
been improved.

Important note for users of the old version:
The new
version "Im Köblitzer Bergland 3 reloaded" appears as a new, independent route
for the Train Simulator. The old version "Im Köblitzer Bergland 3" is still
available and usable. The developers have opted for this solution so that the
scenarios of the old version remain usable..
