The ICE 4 is the new generation of high-speed Intercity Express (ICE) trains for long-distance passenger transport. Siemens Mobility was commissioned to develop and build the train in 2011. The series designation is series 412. A twelve-car and a seven-car variant are to be used..
The seven-car version has three powered cars. 456 seats are offered over a length of 200 meters. The maximum speed is 230 km/h.
The twelve-car trains have six powered carriages and offer 830 seats over a length of 346 meters. The maximum speed is 250 km/h.
