Swiss Trains 03 "TRAVERSO"
SOB
Südostbahn FLIRT TRAVERSO by Stadler Rail
The
Traverso corresponds to the FLIRT 3 model from Stadler Rail. 30 of the 8-part
Traverso's were manufactured for the Swiss Southeastern Railway SOB.
From
2019, the first vehicles went into operation as the SOB Voralpen-Express between
Lucerne and St. Gallen. Thanks to their powerful drive power, the trains had no
problems with the gradients of the Voralpen-Express route. As the SOB expanded
its operating radius, the Traverso also came into operation in other regions of
Switzerland. The 150-meter-long compositions, which travel in a striking
copper-colored color scheme with a red stripe, came into use as Treno Gottardo
from 2020 between Arth-Goldau and Locarno on the Gotthard mountain route. Since
December 2021, the SOB has been offering the IR "Aare-Linth", which promises a
fast connection with the Traverso from Bern via Zurich to Chur. Passengers
benefit from the train's top speed of 160 km/h.
This
train has now been realized for Train Simulator Classic. In addition to the
vehicle, the package also includes scenarios for Zurich-Olten, the SBB Route 1
and the Gotthard Panorama Express.
