Swiss Trains 10 - SBB RABe 512 "IR-Dosto"
The first of the 60 new Interregio double-decker trains will be in service from July 17, 2023. SBB will offer passengers greater comfort. The trains will operate in the Zurich/Mittelland region and western Switzerland.
Proven train is combined with the advantages of new trains
With the IR-Dosto, SBB is strengthening its fleet with a proven vehicle type and combining it with the advantages of the newer trains. The 60 new vehicles offer passengers greater comfort. With a length of 150 meters, the six-car multiple units offer 466 seats.
The low-floor IR-Dosto trains allow barrier-free boarding for all passengers. The interiors meet long-distance rail standards and offer 2+1 seating in first class. High-quality seats, power outlets, and easily accessible bicycle parking spaces are available throughout the train. The trains are used on the Zurich S-Bahn and on various routes in German- and French-speaking Switzerland as Regio-Express and InterRegio trains.
